Omana's Kitimat Workshops
It was lovely to spend the day dancing
with you all at the Riverlodge in Kitimat. It was a pleasure
to work with such a wonderful group of women. In addition
to learning the dance moves quickly, you all danced your
hearts out. I appreciate your enthusiasm and your determination.
Drum Solo Workshop
You all did a wonderful job learning the
drum solo choreography (to the song "Drum On"
by Ali Darwish). Here is a video
of me dancing to the entire song. This video will be
a great reference for you while you master the dance on
your own.
When you are working on this dance, don't
be afraid to colour outside the lines; you don't have to
perform the dance exactly as I do it on the video. In fact,
I strongly encourage you to alter the dance to make it your
own. If certain moves just doesn't look or feel right to
you, then you should change them. Use my choreography as
a starting place and then make the dance your own.
Wings of Isis Workshop
So now you know what it is like to fly...in
my opinion, there is nothing that compares to the beauty
of wing dancing (of course I am absolutely biased). It was
so great to watch you all spread your wings and dance.

I am going to make a video of the dance
("Harem" by R.E.G. Project) that I taught you
in the wings class. It will not be available until late
June. I will video the dance when some of the members of
my Hipnosis Bellydance Troupe and I perform at our big year
end show on Friday 13th in June. The video will be available
on this page by the end of the third week in June.
If you would like to see the dance performed
live, then you should come to our show. The show is called
"Poetry in Motion." It will take place at the
Della Herman Theatre in Smithers. Contact me if you would
like to order tickets. The show will most likely sell out,
so if you would like to go you should get your tickets well
in advance.
I do have wing dance video of me dancing
to another song that I can share with you right now. The
video is of me dancing to a choreography that I made to
the song "Butterfly." The dance is on youtube.

Sincerely,
Omana
